You have a great short list that will make for a tough decision. I have a Bigfoot that is very similar to the NL in construction and have had no freezing or cold problems, but the coldest we have seen while using it is into the high teens or low 20's. The floorplan is great for 2 people and the no slide helps with keeping warm and the weight of the camper. With 3 people the slide may be a better option. We looked at the NL very hard and like you did not like the higher price, but we already had a camper and were just looking for an upgrade so we kept looking until we found the right used camper. Did not see many used NL, Bigfoot, or AF in the 9 foot length so we went 250 miles one way to see and buy our Bigfoot. We ended up looking for Bigfoot and NL because we wanted the lighter weight for our SRW 1 ton so we could tow the toys and didn't need the extra room of the slide because there is just the two of us. Our previous camper was an S&S which is a very well built cold weather camper you might look at if there are any in your area.
