I will say that Lance has to be the most flagrant builder of TC's as far as actual unit weight versus the sticker weight on their units. The 'advertised weight' in their brochures and affixed to the units is nowhere close to the actual unit weight.
Having said that, it is an industry norm to understate the actual weight. The only builders I know of that even come close are Capri and Northstar who both weigh each and every assembled unit prior to leaving the factory and affix that weight to each camper.
Everyone els 'fudges the actual unit weight and of course it's always much lighter than it actually is.
My old 915 Lance weighed almost 1000 pounds more than the sticker weight, empty. No excuse for that other than falsely alluding to a customer that he (or she) can haul that camper on a truck that isn't designed or built to handle the actual weight of the unit and puts the owner at risk for a disaster, either with overloaded components or with adverse handling and stopping power in an emergency situation.
