What you would need to do is go completely independent and have multiple sources to pull work from. There is work, you just have to hustle for it.
Don't rely on one broker to get your work from or one industry. Go for anything that needs towing and get your name out to any and all trailer (cargo, utility, RV, boat) manufacturers
Yes, but likely working max hours and taking loads both ways, using multiple brokers to almost always have a load to back haul.
Just because it isn't a "Union" thing seniority will work into it, that and reliability, and work ethic.
