He didn't use any type of weight distribution bars. He just had the trailer hooked to hitch ball. The truck did have the HEAVY DUTY receiver and stinger (2 1/2"). His truck WAS squatting with all that tongue weight (1555 lbs per brochure). It's about an hour's drive from the dealership to my seasonal site.
