Determining what size tarp

On a typical 28 footer would like top an both
ends covered, an maybe 5-10 ft of both sides
Covered. Any math guru s what size tarp would
one need?
  • I use a tarp just big enough to cover the top and maybe 6" on the sides. Been doing that for years and never had a problem with moisture.
  • I'd say about 40 x 20 ft. We use a Sunshield tarp with the silver side up in the summer and black side up in the winter where we get snow. Ours is covered all the time unless camping. Never had a moisture problem. We do open the roof vents and crack the end windows to get a little air flow. Search this Forum for `RV Cover' and read on.
  • Thanks on the demensions
It sits in a 2 sided free standing carport

Ok thanks on getting breathable material
I was trying to avoid direct u v.

So where do I search for breathable material tganks
  • “Tarps” are a bad idea. Sit under one for a couple of hours. You’ll see. Reminds me of my Army poncho...a curse from Sr. Villa. (I know, I know...“Pancho”)
  • A tarp will trap moisture and prevent the breeze from drying it out so you will get mold and mildew. It also will flap in the breeze leaving rub marks all over the rig.

None ... you want a breathable cover. ;)
