Dicor rubber roof Protectant-Is it waste on EPDM roof?

that's what I was thinking. I wanted to clean it to keep the black streaks and for it too look decent cosmetically... but I don't want it to wear down faster do to scrubbing... im assuming a once per season roof cleaning with a sponge wouldn't speed up the wearing process of the epdm roof. and the dicor soap I assume is made for epdm.... but from reading these threads it seems like the dicor protectant is not needed...
