Dicor rubber roof Protectant-Is it waste on EPDM roof?

In my experience it was a waste of time. I cleaned and conditioned my roof with the protect all products once a year. Looked good for a couple of months after it was done then after a rain the ground was covered with white flakes from the roof. In only 8 years the black was starting to show through. I ended up having to coat my roof with Heng's coating. I think it probably did more harm than good.
