Being broke / cheap, Dad went through a lot of used cars over the years, but there where plenty of Fords - especially in the 80's when everyone dumped the old mid-70's LTD's / T-Birds and such for little gas-misers - you could get a great full sized sedan with lots of life left in it for 500 bucks at the auction. I love those old cars and miss 'em. I kinda miss the old 77 Grenada Coupe with a 302 in it - fun little car! Too bad it was my first ever "left me walking" experience....both my Dodge and Chevy pickups at least made it home when trouble arose.
I never had any brand loyalty, or even much preference, 'till I had been wrenching on stuff to make my living for some years. Now, sorry to say, but you will not find the Blue Oval in my driveway unless it's given to me for free.
