Diesel engines why not more available in smaller vehicles ?

Of course the higher taxes on diesel fuel enters the equation. While the government likes to set CAFE standards on one hand and then penalizing higher efficiency fuels on the other, there is no wonder why we can’t have more and better diesel powered vehicles.
