A review of the diesel bans in Germany:
German city diesel bans
Informative post and link.
Thank you.
John
It is a US article not a European one.I find a lot of bias from US sources, no mention of NEW Diesel engines being released outside NA
What was interesting was this. Remember it is only 2% Diesel usage in the US. Elephant in the room is Cancer causing tiny particulates ,Ozone and CO2 ( Greenhouse Gas)from modern DI Gas engines. They are considerably higher in the US than Europe in this case.Europe's love affair with diesel is already fading, with its market share in the European Union falling from 53.6 percent at the end of 2014 to 49.9 percent at the end of 2016, European automotive association ACEA's most recent data shows.
($1 = 0.8035 euros)
Actually it says it is an article written by Reuters right under the title. Reuters is based in London so it is a European article.
Here is the origional article from Reuters which was posted a day before Autoblog copied it.
German carmakers in a spin ahead of diesel ban ruling
Also, January's numbers show that diesel's make up 2.8% market share in the passenger vehicle market which does not include commercial fleet vehicles. If you include commercial vehicles, the total numbers of diesels vehicles on the road is around 5% last I checked, not 2%.
