The party is over for diesel powered vehicles. I have a 2017 Chevy Sonic Turbo with 6-speed stick that is rated at 38mpg highway and I prefer it to a diesel. I had two PSD Excursions (7.3 & 6.0) and they were a pain compared to my 8.1 big block van since they sit for a long time between trips. I think turbo gas engines are the way to go for both cars and pickups.
38 mpg highway? That's it? My 2.0L diesel car currently averages 41.2 mpg COMBINED driving mostly 75 mph Texas roads and has over 40 hp and over 130 lb-ft than a 2017 Sonic Turbo. Hell, the worst tank I had was 38.1 mpg and that was with more than three quarters of the tank being city driving.
