Diesel "loudness"?
Do diesel trucks get louder as they age, or were ones built years ago that much louder than today's diesel? I test drove one recently, a 2016 ram 2500, and it was rather quiet... only a bit louder ...

Lmao .. im with you guys,my 96 PSD Dually with the 5" pipe(I actually added to lower EGT), my 99 FXSTS with drag pipes, my quads and drag trike .. BUT.... i dont warm my truck up at 5am, i idle down my street on my bike if i come home late, when i run the quads or drag trike i talk to my neighbors first and let them know (Drag trike is LOUD) .. I have consideration for them and they always thank me for it .. Its not because im "Arrogant or Selfish" thats just a comment someone would make that is ill informed on what they are talking about .. To get back on the topic, yes diesels are getting quieter, the manufactures are learning more about it and got it down pretty well .. with all the new redesign and up grades there is no reason why it shouldn't run quieter
