If I were purchasing a new .5 ton truck it would probably be the next gen 3.5 EB with a 10 speed transmission. If this engine is anything like the shining star 2.7EB it's going to be a outstanding.
Having said that I'm not sure diesel's with the extra expense can justify the ROI, and I'm not seeing the Eco Diesel's on the road either. To be honest I may (and that's a big maybe) see 1 Eco Diesel/month. Heck I see more Hellcat cars than Eco Diesels in the worlds truck capital.
