We are hoping to be able to get one more truck before we retire. Would love to think about a diesel but am scared to death of getting into major repairs down the road. Have any of you had these fears? Keep thinking about the Ford 6.0/6.4 issues and how upset we would have been if we spent that kind of money and had those issues. Even more upset if we were retired with a limited income.
Thanks.

Well for what you are towing now 9,226# GVWR the Tundra is near it's max. If your are looking at full timing you might something a little bigger, with a couple more slides. You might find a newer gasser that will fill you needs.
I pull 11,000# of 5er at highway speeds on two lane state highways no issues slowing to 45 for a tight up hill curve and roll into the throttle and be back to 60 like that!! Yes I do that with a 14 year old Ram with 275,000 miles and still less than 300 hp and about 550# of torque.
I can't imagine the feeling of towing it or even another 4,000# with a new 385 hp and 865# of torque.
