Rather that get into the Gas vs. Diesel debate yet again, from a psychological standpoint if you are scared to death of running into problems down the road, I think you will be unsatisfied with a diesel because you will always be worrying about it breaking down. The truck you have is probably very reliable (but thirsty) so maybe stick with that until it isn't working for you any more. I am saying this because after reading all the diesel horror stories on here I decided to go with a gasser so I wouldn't have to worry about it.
