The ultra low sulfur diesel made for the US now is really poor for lubricating value. It has a wear scar rating of 520, which means it has 25% LESS lubricity than the fuel it replaced.
Any "major modern studies" to back up these numbers of yours? By modern, I mean within the last year or two. If so, I would like to see them.
Or are you just parroting ancient old studies?
