Agreed on the Ford thing. We run our vehicles 5 years, usually about 130K miles. They tend to get pretty beat-up, and don't maintain the "look" our companies require. The down time cost $1000 a day, so that's not acceptable either. We don't tow with our fleet, but they are loaded to GVWR much of the time.
So far, no problems with the abused hemi, or it's 545RFE transmission. Front end is holding up much better as well. We also found that city mileage of the Cummins did not show much better than the Hemi.
An bunch of injector repairs, a HFFP repairs, and a dead transmissions really soured the operating efficiency of the Cummins.
