Diesel,,,, the rest of the story??
As some of you may have read, I need to buy a bigger truck and am considering a dually ( among other things ). I've also found a few newer trucks with diesel engines that fall into my budget, but dies...

In the western states where you drive. You mean CA. Using Ca. numbers just doesn't make sense for the rest of the country. I don't know of any other state that has a .90 cent price difference between gas and diesel. Here in AZ it went from diesel being cheaper about 3 months ago to 30 cents more or about 10% higher now.
I think the real point here is from a business stand point if you can get a gasser to do the job you need done and your costs are lower it is the way to go. If you need a diesel due to weights hauled or towed well diesel is the way to go.
I drive an F550 with 7.3 diesel to haul my 4000 lb camper with 2700 lb cargo trailer from Phoenix into the mountians
It does it at 70 and gives me 12MPG. My old gasser (460 F350) would do the 6% grades at 45 working it's a** off in 3rd gear and give me 7 or 8 MPG. easy choice.
If I was pulling a 1000 lb tent trailer I would be in an f150 Eco boost.
I've said it before right tool for the right job.
