As some of you may have read, I need to buy a bigger truck and am considering a dually ( among other things ). I've also found a few newer trucks with diesel engines that fall into my budget, but dies...

The OP hasn't said anything in over a week. He has tons of gas vs diesel threads to read on this and other websites and forums. I would remind him or anyone with his problem if he wants to know about diesel pickups then listen to all three brand owners and pay close attention to certain year models within each brand.
Same with a gas engine.
Interesting point. I don't recall having read any stories where a gasser cost it's owner $5k.

Honestly...I think I could put a complete rebuilt ENGINE in most gassers for that!
