Here's a thought, since the payload of this truck is in excess of 1 ton, and 3000 pounds is more weight than many 3/4 tons can carry, and a 1 ton dually can carry 2 1/2 tons, how about we drop the 1/2,3/4,1 ton monikers all together since they are meaningless.
Looks like the truck hits the mark as far as configurations and payload. We will see how it does for mpg and cost. It will almost certainly get better mpg than the Ecoboost while offering comparable performance, but diesel costs more than gas. If the engine is a $10K option, that will put the price into 2500/3500 series domestic offerings. If they keep it comparable to the big 3 150/1500 offerings they may have a winner. As far as styling goes, that's a totally subjective thing hardly worth discussing. You either like the way it looks or you don't.
