What's the difference?
Well, if you want to pick nits, the Duramax was developed by DMAX, Inc., a US company, in which GM and Isuzu were partners and shareholders. The engine was developed by these partners by the US company DMAX, by mainly American workers, and has been made in the USA by this company since its inception. So, the Duramax is and has has always been made on US soil by a US company which has a minority foreign shareholder. And for what it is worth, GM owned somewhere between 34% and 49% of Isuzu at the time, at least according to Wikipedia.
Does that help? ;)
Note -- not that it matters to me -- they could engineer and develop an engine wherever and I'd buy it if it worked the best!
