Looking at buying a new to us F250 mid 1990’s. A lot of the Fords have the 6.0 L Diesel engines. I am only pulling a 22 foot fun finder and know I want need that size motor. But most of the 250’s out there have the diesel. I really haven’t made up my mind one way or the other on gas or diesel.

I meant mid 2000. Lots of folks for sure don't like the 6.0. Now not sure what I want. Anyone out there happy with there 6.0?
If you are looking mid 2000's and gas, the V10 is a good power plant with the right transmission and rear axle.
The cash for clunkers program wiped out a lot of good TV's if you looking for used and for pulling.
Here are some years to look for and heads up on the V10's. Not show stoppers, just get ready to deal with.
Pre 2005 they had the spark plug spitting issues in some cases.
The 2005 to 2007's got the 3 valve upgrade and different heads. No more plug spitting, more power just change the plugs at 50 to 70K miles. This head vintage has the broken plug issue changing the spark plugs.
The 2008 head fix took care of the spark plug issue.
That said, the engine of all years was a good puller. If you get a Super Duty, 2005 and newer you will get the 3 valve V 10 (until they stopped putting them in), the 5 and later 6 speed torqueshift tranny with tow haul, integrated brake controller, the front suspension are coils where before 2005 they where leaf springs.
While I worked through some issues on my 2005, it is a good truck. There are none of them error free. And any of the gassers have a drinking problem...
