Marketing. Producing the same line of trailers under different product names allows the manufacturer to sign licensing agreements with competing dealers in the same area and not infringe on the terms of those agreements. From the consumers point of view it makes no difference - pick the dealer you prefer and in this case the Viking or Clipper you prefer.
