Pecking order of Coachmen brands

I'm confused as to the order of Coachmen. I'm being told by the saleswoman that Apex is below Freedom Express in pecking order but, at their lot, the Apex's are more expensive than the Freedoms. Just confusing. Anyone know if there's a site that will give a list from top to bottom?
  • The Freedom Express is Coachmen’s higher ultra lite line. We just purchased a 279 Liberty Edition and it had much better quality cabinetry in it. The Apex is lighter and uses an all aluminum side, rear, front and roof framing though. I watched tons of videos on construction details before purchasing. Search videos on YouTube for factory tours of these two brands.
  • I have a new freedom express. In general, I find the quality acceptable. I got lucky and got an early produced '19, and saved about 3k over later produced '19. The only real differnce, later model year units got a shower door instead of a curtain.
  • DW has a co-worker who has a Freedom Express. They had some serious issues to deal with from new, in particular the slide. Don't know any details.

We used to have Catalina. We're now on our 3rd TT (different brand). Looking back on it, the Catalina actually was decent quality in comparison and as far as TTs go in general. Not a big plus exactly, but the Catalina had cabinets assembled using pocket screw instead of staples like most use. The base cabinets and counter top were rather wonky tho.

Discerning "quality" between brands and models isn't really possible IMO. All TTs have the same brands of components like Suburban, Dometic, Atwood, Lippert, etc. and it boils down to mostly to workmanship. Wiring for ex., can we well done one day on the assembly line and poorly the next. Our current TT is the identical model to the previous one and the previous one was put together better. Go figure...
  • I could not understand how the apex would be more expensive. We just purchased a Freedom Express Liberty Edition. The physical size (interior height) of the apex was a killer. The Freedom Express had the same square footage, but was way bigger. We also felt quality was higher on them also.

    Good Luck
  • From their website it seems the Apex is a bit lower, whether that indicates better quality or longevity in the long run is hard to tell. Between the two brands you indicated, I doubt there is much difference although they are more than likely built in different facilities.
