Differential fluid change

OK this is my first time doing this. I have the correct fluid and I hope the correct gasket. My question is: do I use permatex on the gasket or leave it clean?

  • Have you checked out if you need friction modifier stuff?

I installed an extra capacity diff cover and used "ultra black" per instructions.

You've never done it before? I hope you lift weights. Pumping that oil in there takes time and muscle. Gasket? Nope. Look at the post above.....
Time and muscle? I must have missed that part. And yes, use the create-a-gasket stuff.

Make sure you use the right stuff. My service manual calls for 75W-140 synthetic for my Dodge, when towing.

  • You should forget the gasket! This stuff is AWESOME!!! Never had a leak.

Second pic in appropriate weight if you want to do it BEST.
