mayo30,
Repairs to me mean fixing or replacing anything that failed that was OEM installed in or on the RV or the RV structure itself that is not normal to need replacing due to premature failure. Of course, that does not include items like light bulbs that burned out, normal maintenance as defined in the owner's manual, maintaining caulked joints, nature damage from a storm, occupants breaking things, or someone running into the RV whether parked or on the road, etc. Also have not ever repaired or replaced or needed to replace anything on or in our 3 Carriage 5th wheels using the same criteria. The better an RV is actually maintained, the less repair it's likely to need.
I sure can't say the same statements of non-repairs needed or done on the cheaper built/cheaper price RV's we'd bought back in the 60's, 70's and early 80's. The quality and build difference was like night and day as was the service life without fixing or replacing things. Might say we'd learned our lesson well! Your experience may be very different but I can only report ours and this is our 50th year of owning and using our many RV's.
Buy cheap, get cheap! Buy better quality and you have a much better chance of longevity of better or good service life.
