Sounds like a cheap temporary solution.
Btw, plastic tanks can be bought in a variety of sizes and shapes. I think a long term solution is to buy one of those tanks, permanently secure it, and add hoses to pump into a portable grey water tank made for the purpose to empty. I'm concerned that you container will break down quickly if it contains normal grey water liquids/chemicals and crack from use from that or movement. A leak in the wrong place would be a giant mess.
