A cover will protect it from the sun, but you are the only one that can answer the question of covering it during camping season. Depends on weather or not you want to spend the time and effort to do so. While not hard for me, people are different. If I leave mine uncovered, it gets dirty enough to have to wash it before using it. If you decide not to cover it, at least cover the tires. I did not cover between trips this year so far and I constantly have to spray off the roof as the trees are seeding and that stuff stains. Not to mention the green pollen from the pine trees and owl poop.
I'll add the inside temps are cooler when covered as mine is in the direct sun most of the day.
