The point I was trying to make is that you paid for an upgraded engine because you wanted more performance and capability from your truck knowing full well that you will spend more money in the long run and that it did not "make financial sense". And you are not alone. Many gas engine owners, including myself with my old Ecoboost, have made the same decision to pay for more power, capability and performance when we chose to pay for an upgraded engine over the base engine. We also knew that the fuel cost differences would make that decision even more expensive.
Yet how many threads or articles are there about whether or not a person will recoup the extra money spent on an upgraded gaser engine over the base engine? Not a darn one, so why is it that there seems to be one about a diesel every other month even though the diesel engine upgrade is one engine upgrade that not only gets you more power, capability, and performance(which is worth the money paid) BUT it also helps you recoup most(if not all) of the upgraded engine fee in the long run.
