The difference between a 3/4 and a 1 ton SRW is usually that the 1 ton has an overload spring pack. Something that can be added to the 3/4 ton. But the price difference is so small as to make it foolish to bother with it. Just get the 1 ton and be done with it. Then your sticker will give you more payload, and everybody is happy.
As to whether it can be done with the 3/4 ton... Maybe. But you stand a really good chance of being over some of the ratings... Does this matter to you? Some here advocate ignoring the ratings of their choice. Others are a real stickler.
IMO, if I already owned a 3/4 ton, I would install the overloads and not worry about it... But since you haven't bought the truck yet..Just get the 1 ton. Then any potential warranty and or legal issues won't be a problem.
