We hate cooking inside also. We have a Sidekick which came with the RV which doesn't get extremely hot so is perfect for pancakes, hotdogs etc. We don't cook anything 'spattery' on it.
On a separate table at the edge of the awning we have a camp stove for 'messier' cooking when we don't have a fire going.
Yes, the separate gas bottles are a PITA, and if we could find an adapter for the stove we'd hook it up to the RV gas, but it's better than nothing.
