Do I need a DRW truck?

SRW/DRWS and big camper/small camper, as you know, it’s all about compromises and tradeoffs. Nobody can tell you what you should buy, they can only tell you what issues to consider and what worked best for them.
We’ve owned the same 4,000 lb Lance camper since 1996. For the first 10 years it made more sense for us to haul it on an srw truck. We used the truck a lot to commute and we didn’t tow anything over 3,500 lbs. For the last 8 years it made more sense to haul it on a drw truck. We no longer use the truck to commute and we started towing a 7,500 lb jeep/trailer.
Will you also be towing anything when hauling your camper?
One thing is for sure, don’t buy a truck until you know what camper you will be hauling.
