For the person asking about wheel base to trailer ratio, goes something like this.
110" minimum WB to tow a trailer max 20'
Add a foot in length per 4" of WB.
While I understand it, it's like a lot of rules of thumb, can be taken wrong. Really, a minimum WB to tow? Better not tell that to folks I see towing trailer behind their Honda Goldwings. Including a former moderator on here. Those trailers are well within size ratio of the bike.
You can tow longer and heavier with the same WB with a stronger chassis, springs tires etc. IE a rig with 6000 lbs give should not tow what a 12k give rig will do.
Another ratio one should add to equation is hitch overhang vs center of rear axle. If you have 6' of over hang vs 4', you will have the potential for more towing issues, IE fish tail sway etc. If you are over the RA, like a 5W/ gooseneck, you can tow safer per say a longer trailer tha6' of OA.
To me, while the ratio is good, it's not perfect by any stretch, should not be taken at full strength, you have to follow or you will die type thing.
