Do I REALLY need a dually?

I think the answer is pretty straightforward...the truck you buy including its options will dictate what camper(s) you can haul and vice versa...if you buy the camper first that pretty much dictates what your truck options are. It only gets complicated when you play 'what if' and then only you can answer those questions. In my case I researched and decided what camper I wanted to own and then ordered my truck to carry it...I then added some factory options and aftermarket goodies for the 'what ifs'. I don't think its wise to buy something designed for one purpose and then try to 'force' it to do another.
