Do I REALLY need a dually?
I searched the forums and the answers I'm reading pertain to towing capacity. Having a truck camper SIT on a rig is more about hauling, right? I'm looking at used Ford and Chevy F-350/3500 4x4 dies...

You don't need to BUY the camper first. Just look at enough of them to get an idea of what you WANT to buy. Hard side or pop-up? Long or short? Wide or narrow? Wet bath or dry bath? Basement or no basement? Also consider where you want to take your rig. A DRW can go off-road but for the more extreme off-roading you'd be better off with a SRW. Of course the answer to this question will also affect your choice of camper as the more extreme the off-roading you want to do the lighter you'll want your camper to be and with a lower center-of-gravity. Once you've narrowed down your camper options you can decide what size and type of truck to get. Good luck with your hunt!
