Last year we stayed at a wonderful campground on Lake Guntersville in Alabama (Honeycomb Creek).
Just remember, there are a-holes everywhere but just because you run across some on Guntersville does not mean they are locals.

Brad, This is the 3rd year we have gone down there (only camped the once) and most everyone has been incredible. One man waited for us to come back to the trailer to ask what part of WV we were from (his wife was from about an hour from here). He gave us his number to call if we wanted a fishing guide/buddy. We did run into one ol fart that asked if we didn't have anywhere closer to home to fish. I assume he didn't have a business that depended upon the fishing economy.
Word had it that the current management of the CG, as well as the previous, are pretty strict on many points, but they were wonderful to us. I hope to return again at least once this year and camp there.
Side note, there was a Northern Lite TC parked along the causeway/bridge not far from the Honeycomb Creek CG. I was hoping to speak to the owners, but the wind was kicking up and I assume they were inside being smart. If "whoever" is on this board, just wanted to say that was one great job of parking!
