nip,
One word: Litigation. That's the main difference between the good-old-days and now-o-days. I read a report that outlined the whole story of a dismounted TC rolling over and crushing one or two kids playing near it in a campground. A sad day in TC town.
Ok, thanks, is there any sort of guide out there that list which CG's have specific rules against this?
I plan on doing yellowstone and a couple other NP's next summer and had planned on removing it from the truck during the day to explore, probably could put it back on the truck at night, this will be a major drag if i have to drive around with it still on all the time
To my knowledge you can remove the TC in pretty much any national or state park, usfs CG etc. I've never asked but I have done it many times with our old S&s.
