So you really don't know what was the cause.....just that tongue jack got bent.

And dealer replaced the bent tongue jack.....correct?

if it was under the dealers care when it happened then they should be responsible for the damage.

I had a Flip Foot on one of my cargo trailers.

It's a neat product, but not so great unless the trailer it chocked well.

I won't own one again.

I clobbered up a 10 inch long peice of 6x6 wood to which I screwed a peice of 1/2 inch plywood to the bottom, the plywood is about 2 inches larger than the 6x6. I then screwed a 6x6 peice of ply to the top of the 6x6. The former is for stability and the latter prevents the 6x6 from splitting.
This takes up the space of multiply blocks of wood or the device complained about.
It has served us well for many years of hard use.
I did nail a peice of rope to it to make it easy to carry.

We installed the flip jack. No off setting and works well without blocks.

I'll bet that the trailer moved forward which caused the problem. That doesn't make the OP's situation any better. I understand why people would buy these kind of products, because the jacks take so long to move up and down. I certainly like the electric jack on my 34' Avion, but when I built the trailer for my C-11 I went with a 5,000# manual jack that has the built in pivot. Even though I don't like cranking a jack, it only takes a few turns to get it clear and then I just pivot the entire jack out of the way and off I go. Unfortunaly, these type of jacks require welding to the side of the frame.

I'm wondering if the OP had it on backwards. It seems to me if the part you put the tongue jack in was facing forward instead of backward that could happen. Just looking at the design I wouldn't have confidence in it. I prefer to keep 2 solid blocks of wood under the jack foot on mine.

More info is needed , but yes, it seems like if it were chocked properly it would not have moved, and therefore "failed". Even if you we're on wood blocks and the TT moved it may have come off and bent the shaft. I'd bet it happens occasionally to others as well. I saw this product reviewed and didn't like the looks of it, but if the TT is chocked solid, and the brute is pinned properly, I don't really see how it could fail.

OP, sorry for your troubles non the less. Lesson learned as they say.

Looking at the photos, if it is locked correctly I can't see how it would fail... Am I missing something here??:@
