If you have to add water every 6 months, that means the water was boiled off.
Question is what you consider normal.
As I mention- I had cheap batteries last 11 years with good inverter/charger.
Our Mercedes vehicles keep the voltage in 13.8V range and I had one battery (made in Spain) lasting 13 years in SUV. 10 years is common on European cars
Ford trucks keep voltage >14V and I never had batteries in it lasting more than 5 years, even when I bought 100 months batteries from Costco.
