Do the Weight Police have jurisdiction off road?

Here's my Pisten Bully 100 Snowcat.



My only question is how and where are you going to unload the camper if you have any type of engine related problem??

I would hate to be out there and have any type of engine or drivetrain problem and need access to the engine compartment.

I don't recall reading how much weight they can carry.

The snowcat itself weighs 10,000 as equipped in the pictures with the blade and tiller.

The snowcats will only go on packed trails. They're not like a snowmobile that you can just take off and go where ever you want. Get off the packed trail and they dig down fast.



This is my cat stuck 2 winters ago. I would hate to try and dig one out with the additional weight of a camper.

It looks cool but I'll pass.

My 2015 Ram 3500 Dually 4wd with snow plow pack and 14,000 GVWR had a piece of paper in glove box that said "this truck is not recommended to carry a truck camper". another person on this forum also had the same thing. We searched and found the snow plow pack caused this notice.
The snow plow pack only included a transfer case skid plate and a larger alternator.
we assume they don't want you carrying a camper while your plowing snow.

Thanks for sharing @noteven! That is my dream rig! I could spend the whole winter in the backcountry in one of them if I didn't run out of Ramen, whisky and sled gas!

Pretty misleading subject. Any way, the topic title has nothing to do with the article.

It’s a truck camper magazine article about a snow cat that has a Cirrus TC on it. So, not a truck, and not what most of us would consider offroad. Probably not even overweight.

The price ranges from $40,000 per night and up, but is determined by specific guest needs.

If there is somebody rich enough to afford it- I would like to be adopted.
