PEX is awesome stuff. there are different grades of it just like pvc but generally the brass fitting connections are the week part. Pex can expand to something like 5 times it's size without blowing and some connections don't have crimped connections, they just expand the pex and put a barbed fitting in it and when it shrinks it's good to go.
