I've been told it is illegal in BC and I can find some evidence that seems to support it.

Having said that, I drive with mine on all the time and many of those km's have been in BC. I've never been questioned about it.
When I went across the ferry at Nakusp they checked that it was off for the ferry crossing but had no comment about it being on when I got there.
