In the 30 some odd years I've been camping in truck campers and a motor home I have always driven with the propane on to run the fridge. All these years I had never concidered this might be dangerous ...

The only class of RV that falls in to the category "of almost every one having an inverter" is the high end diesel pusher.
Your typical travel trailer and truck camper dos not normally have an inverter.
Me, I travel with the propane on.
