In the 30 some odd years I've been camping in truck campers and a motor home I have always driven with the propane on to run the fridge. All these years I had never concidered this might be dangerous ...

Do I remember it wrong that ferries check the main propane valve to be off, not jut pilot light?
When we all might agree that the risk is low, some people don't get it, that it is unnecessary risk.
Why not avoid it?
