Fire away.... Why would someone not use a toilet for what it's intended for? Not to get graphic here but I always think of my toilet like a big pot of soup. When you cook soup you must have plenty of liquid to float the bones and vegetables. The RV toilet? Same idea. Put a couple gallons of water in with the chemical bag after dumping and you are good to go. As you are using it be sure to put plenty of water in. I fill with way more water than I need when I'm getting close to dumping the black just so there isn't "stuff" drying to the side or onto the sensors.
I've had several RVs over the last decade or so and have never had an odor problem. And I use my toilet to fullest every chance I get :)
