Don't they put salt on your roads there in NY in the winter time? That's the source of the rust..
You probably have more rust on the frame and such as well. Do you undercoat or clean the underside of your truck all at least once a year?
There is this guy on youtube from around that part of NY I think (South Main Auto) and he shows vehicles with rust so bad, he can't even pass them for the inspection tag you guys need to have..
Anyway, I feel for you Eastern guys that have to put up with that stuff.. They call it the "Rust Belt" for a reason!! :)
