Do you really need a corner cut mattress?

Question

We need to upgrade the short queen mattress in our trailer. The factory one is corner cut, but it really doesn't look like it saves all that much room. Am I missing something in having to have a corner cut mattress?

Take a piece of cardboard to simulate a square mattress and see how much room you have walk around. Can DW and you live with the space, probably  less expensive for the new  mattress as well.Ken

Just flip the mattress end for end to check if there are clearance issues.
