The 2006 trucks run warmer than previous versions. The valve seats are different. I think the valve lash is also different on 06'+. The 06'+ also has electronically controlled engine fan. The 06'+ has no fuse protection from bad trailer wiring.
The 06 and 07 trucks do have different valves and valve seats, but the tuning is the same as 04.5 and 05. The extra 0.06" on the exhaust valve lash is not enough to really notice on the pyro, but it was enough of a increase in "EGR" to help with emissions.
The electronically controlled engine fan came out with the HPCR in 2003.
