Do they ever fail at the impeller? I have a slight coolant loss, and a squeek that sounds like its coming from the pump pully which looks original.
But I thought they only failed at the bearing and leaked. With the system topped off can the WP fail to move enough fluid?
If the belt is turning the water pump it is working no question.
Slight coolant loss? May want to replace the radiator cap. My which 98 was loosing a small amount and replaced the cap now no coolant loss.
