I was thinking along these lines too.
Maybe I could replace the expensive RAM cat with a Magnaflow cheapy ($260.00) 49 state cat which isn't CARB approved.
I'm told the criminals don't like the aftermarket cats they're pretty much worthless to a scrapyard.
No guarantees though.
I could switch it next July when my emissions equipment check pops up for re-registrastion or if some clown steals it I won't be out much.
